Well, it's that time of year! Halloween is officially over and it's time to think about Turkey Dinners, Christmas Presents and New Years Eve Plans. To be honest, writing that sentence just stressed me out. Does that happen to you? I have a very logistical mind. And what I mean by that is when I have things to do, my mind goes into immediate create a list mode. For example. Thanksgiving. It's not just about the basic shopping list, for me it's what will we do for breakfast, what music do I want on while we're eating dinner, do I have my tree up before Thanksgiving or after... and so on. So you see, my brain goes into a tailwind of thoughts and ideas. I have people tell me how amazed they are by my logistical gifts, but in all honesty, sometimes its something I can't shut off. But enough about me, lets talk holiday stress...

Around the holidays, I tend to take a Social Media break, the reason being is it stresses me out. Seeing all the decorating ideas as I scroll through Facebook or Instagram takes a stress toll on me. It's not about the ideas I see, it's about how I burden myself with thinking, why didn't I think of that idea type of mentality. So this year, I'm taking on a different mindset. The mindset of just enjoying every single moment of the Holidays. Take part in the excitement of decorating with all the Christmas decor you have. I made a promise to myself this year. I won't buy one single new Christmas Decor item. Yup, you heard me! I'm even going to pull down my fake tree and use it again. For the past few years we've gone out and purchased the fresh ones. Not this year. When I pull it down, I'm gonna remember the day I took my little girl to buy our first artificial tree. She was so excited, and so was I. See, this is what I'm talking about. Being in the moment of what you have and what memories are made is what matters. I want to use what I have. I have tons of Christmas Decor, and to be honest, 12 bins of Christmas stuff is a little exaggerated. Half of the items I haven't used in years. I want a basic clean Christmas decor. Not over the top, like I've done in the past. (I'm not kidding, 3 Christmas trees throughout my house) See, I'm already less stressed. So today, have that mindset. Be in awe of what you have. Be in awe of who's around you. Enjoy every minute of these holidays, and remember what Christmas is all about. Til Next Time.. Mary Ellen
